Higley's Josh Garcia, #15, pulls down Saguaro's Jacob Christofferson, #7 with a tackle in the second quarter of Friday's game.

The three biggest classifications have a clear cut favorite.

Mountain Pointe, Desert Edge and Saguaro have been at the top of their respective conferences all year and remain there with two weeks left in the regular season.

Things happen – the Pride lost its top running back and quarterback in recent weeks – on the way to a state championship run, but all three coaches know how to navigate the journey.

Is there a team out there that will stand in the way?

Chandler seems to be the only team up to the task in 6A, but the first go around with the Pride (52-7) didn’t exactly go so well. A second meeting will have a much closer outcome, but the Pride will still be the favorite.

The amount of teams considered 5A contenders is a little longer. Williams Field, Centennial and possibly Queen Creek could win it all without it being considered a huge upset.

The list of teams that could pose a threat to Saguaro in 4A is probably zero considering the Sabercats have already handled No. 2 Sunrise Mountain, No. 4 Higley and No. 6 Marcos de Niza. The Knights gave Saguaro the best game so it is either them, or maybe No. 3 Catalina Foothills or no one.

We are about to find out if there truly is a team out there that can stand up to those teams that have been in place from the start.

Here is look at the rankings for five 11-man conferences:
