The Eagles, one of the most popular bands in the history of rock ’n’ roll, finally have announced West Coast dates for their current tour, including an Aug. 5 concert at America West Arena in downtown Phoenix.

The band's tongue-in-cheek ‘‘Farewell I’’ tour is expected to hit 40 cities this summer. Ticket prices and the on-sale date for the Eagles’ Valley concert haven't been determined, but tickets likely will go on sale June 21 or 22.

The Eagles — Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit — have sold more than 120 million albums over the past 30 years. The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
