APACHE JUNCTION — A woman was seriously hurt and three other people suffered minor injuries after their pickup truck went over a cliff near Tortilla Flats in the Tonto National Forest.

Authorities say the accident occurred about 1 a.m. Tuesday. The truck reportedly fell about 200 feet before landing upright.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the driver and three passengers all were wearing seat belts.

Tortilla Flats is about 17 miles north of Apache Junction.

DPS says one of the passengers was able to walk down to a Canyon Lake marina to call for help while another scrambled up the cliff to flag down paramedics when they arrived.

The unidentified 26-year-old woman was airlifted to a Scottsdale hospital for treatment.

DPS investigators say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
