Kylee Webb will be reading palms and Tarot cards at Spook Alley.

An East Valley theater company is prepared to deliver toned-down Halloween scares with its own haunted house next weekend.

Spook Alley is a haunted house built and produced by State 48 Theatre Company of Mesa and it’s loaded with sounds and sights of the season in a family-friendly way.

With State 48's signature costuming, set design, lighting and sound effects, the house is in a theater that has been transformed “into a dark, not-quite-abandoned house where creatures lie in wait behind long-locked doors,” a company spokeswoman said.

Spook Alley offers Halloween-themed food and drinks, music, entertainment, fortune telling, a costume contest and a variety of attractions in spooky themes including: Hogwarts Hall, Vampire Crypt, Spider Tunnel, Frankenstein's Lab, Witches' Lair, Grim Gauntlet, The Upside Down and Pirate Storm.

Spook Alley is open at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 25 and 26 at 48 Theatre Company’s Fuse Box, 943 S. Gilbert Road at Southern Avenue.

Tickets may be purchased for $8 at or for $10 at the door.
