Felice Davis, Kindergarten

Kids in Felice Davis’ kindergarten class at Mendoza are learning the rudiments of reading, writing and math. But they’re really learning how to become successful students – and parents are pretty happy with her success, since they voted her best elementary teacher for the second consecutive year. “I feel so honored to have been voted Best of Mesa two years in a row,” she said. With 20 years of experience, the last 14 at Mendoza, Davis has taught up to third grade, but she believes kindergarten is the most critical. “You want them to have the most positive experience they can,” she said. “It’s such an important year.” Davis is a Mesa native and a shining product of Mesa Public Schools. Her daughter and son also attended Mendoza and are enjoying their college experiences. “Mendoza is a huge family,” she said. “It’s a nice place to raise kids.”
