When Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” visited Sal’s a few years ago, a guest said, “It’s a slice of New York in the middle of the desert.”
That was Sal Cuffaro’s simple business plan 12 years ago, and it always will be, whether the cameras are on or off.
Sal built his loyal following because of the ingenious way he combines marvelously foldable pizza with pastas such as spaghetti and meatballs, ziti and lasagna.
Busy Gilbert workers stream through for a wide slice at lunch. At dinner, families take home boxes of extra pizza slices and scrumptious garlic knots to savor the next day.
