In Friday's East Valley Tribune edition, page A-8, a story about the DPS officer fires shots at warrant receiver should have said that the officer fired a shot, instead of shots.

Correction to Silverstone completion date

In Thursday’s Tribune, a story on the Silverstone project gave the wrong expected completion date of Hyatt’s Classic Residences at Silverstone development. The project is expected to be done in fall 2010.

Correction to contamination story

In Friday’s Tribune, a story on Scottsdale’s past drinking water problems should not have said the city was fined for serving contaminated water. It should have said the fine was levied against Scottsdale for failing to report to the state in a timely manner that testing showed the water had excessive levels of trichloroethylene, or TCE, in 1994 and 1995.

A story in Friday’s Tribune "Bus ridership in Gilbert sees sharp rise" should have said the anticipated cost of Valley Metro bus service to the town of Gilbert for fiscal 2009 is $1.17 million, or $19.38 per passenger trip.

Letter to the editor correction

In a letter to the editor by Steve Ramos of Mesa published in Friday’s Tribune on Page A24 , a sentence was inadvertently dropped. The paragraph should have started: “Hill believes our public schools should be privatized. He knows Arizona’s very conservative Republican Party has been moving the state closer and closer to that reality in the past two decades.”

In Wednesday’s Tribune, a Page A4 story about the formation of the Queen Creek Cultural Foundation, which will operate the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center, should have said the Queen Creek Unified School District contributes $129,000 toward operations of the center. The center must raise the remaining estimated $100,000.

Clarification on 'volunteer minister' accused of molestation

Recently published Tribune stories about former First United Methodist Church of Gilbert volunteer James Ward Chapman, accused of molesting a 13-year-old girl, have referred to him as “volunteer minister.” Chapman was never ordained as a minister.

A suggested educational facility would also go at the new location, if it is built.
