Hunter Rodriguez pitched a complete game and gave up just two runs on four hits to lead host-Desert Vista to a 6-2 victory over Chandler.

Aside from giving up a run in the first and a run in the third, Rodriguez shutout the Wolves the rest of the way to secure the win.

Tyler Viza went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI and Colby Woodmansee finished 2-for-3 with a double and a triple to lead the Thunder, who used a three-run fourth inning to turn a 3-2 game into a four-run victory.

Alex Hennessey gave Chandler its only lead of the game when he blasted a solo home run in the first inning. Hennessey had half of Chandler's hits, going 2-for-3 with a triple to go with his solo shot.

Elsewhere in Division I, Mesquite jumped on host-Basha early with four runs in the first inning and never looked back as the Wildcats defeated the Bears, 7-4. Mesquite pitcher Connor Levi recorded his third win of the year despite allowing three of the four Basha runs in his 3 2/3 innings of work. Garrett Jefferies went 1-for-4 with a triple and 2 RBI while Jon Ferrendelli, Brad Holland and Matt Waldren were a combined 6-for-10 with a triple and 3 RBI. The Bears' Anthony Conforti was 4-for-4 from the plate with an RBI in the loss.

Corona del Sol put its perfect record on the line versus visiting-Mesa and barely survived, nudging past the Jackrabbits in four games, 23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-22.

Alex Davis' 19 kills, Kyle Niemtschk's 34 assists and Matthew Seall's seven blocks helped the Aztecs put a disappointing first game loss behind them in order to edge out Mesa in the final three games.

The win improved Corona del Sol's record on the year to 13-0.
