The latest boys basketball rankings, updated on Jan. 3:

Division I

1. Corona del Sol 13-1

2. Basha 12-1

3. Pinnacle 15-2

4. Cesar Chavez 12-1

5. Brophy 12-3

6. Desert Vista 10-5

7. Mountain View 8-5

8. Hamilton 11-4

9. Gilbert 8-2

10. Boulder Creek 9-3

Corona del Sol stays at No. 1 after an impressive showing at the VisitMesa.com Basketball Challenge, finishing 4-0. The Aztecs were the only Arizona team to finish the tournament undefeated. Basha moves up to No. 2 after a good showing at a Florida tournament, and has yet to lose to an Arizona team. Pinnacle flip-flops with Basha but is definitely in the state title mix after a solid showing at the VMBC. Cesar Chavez stays at No. 4 after an idle week, while Brophy moves up a few spots after playing well in the McClintock Holiday Shootout. Desert Vista lost some close games at the VMBC and dropped to No. 6, followed by a resurgent Mountain View squad. Hamilton drops a spot to No. 8, while Gilbert's hot start brings it in at No. 9, followed by Boulder Creek, also a new entry. Westwind Prep and Mountain Pointe drop out.

Division II

1. Peoria 11-1

2, Amphitheater 13-3

3. Kellis 11-1

4. Nogales 11-3

5. Arcadia 12-4

6. Fairfax 10-3

7. Paradise Valley 13-2

8. Saguaro 11-3

9. Salpointe 9-2

10. Queen Creek 10-0

Peoria was idle, and while the teams ranked Nos. 2-5 took their lumps in various tournaments, we're going to keep them the same because everyone played tough competition. Fairfax jumps up to No. 6 by beating Saguaro and hanging tough against Brophy, and flips with Paradise Valley, which did decently last week but lost big to Perry. Saguaro lost to Fairfax but beat Division I teams Chandler and Westwind Prep to move up a spot. Salpointe and Queen Creek were idle and round out the top-10, but Tempe and Poston Butte are on the cusp.

Division III

1. Gilbert Christian 9-4

2. Window Rock 8-0

3. Holbrook 14-1

4. Thatcher 13-1

5. Valley Christian 8-3

Gilbert Christian may have lost three games last week, but it was an impressive three-game losing streak. The Knights played closely with Gilbert, Desert Edge and Hamilton, all much bigger schools, so they will stay in the top spot. Holbrook dropped a game to Westwood to fall to No. 3, and Window Rock takes advantage to move up a spot. Thatcher went 3-0 last week to move up a spot to No. 4, while Valley Christian moves in at No. 5, knocking out Fountain Hills.

Division IV

1. Phoenix Country Day 16-0

2. Orme 5-0

3. Desert Christian 12-4

4. El Capitan 7-1

5. Yuma Catholic 10-4

Phoenix Country Day stays perfect with a 5-0 week, while Orme moves up a spot. Desert Christian lost four games last week, but played against teams like Buena and Apollo, so it doesn't get knocked too hard for playing up. El Capitan and Yuma Catholic stay at Nos. 4 and 5 because they didn't play last week.
