Chanel Brown provided a big offensive match with 28 kills and five aces to lead Chandler Valley Christian over Scottsdale Christian for a 25-18, 19-25, 25-22, 25-9 victory in 2A Central Region girls volleyball action Thursday at Valley Christian.
Brown also had 13 digs and one block for the Trojans. Teammates Stacy Jones had 13 kills and one block, and Brea Leslie had four kills and four blocks.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Sheigh McRae had 10 kills and 15 digs as host Queen Creek topped Williams Field 23-25, 25-18, 25-10, 25-17.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Arcadia’s Carter Graves finished first in two events as the host Titans defeated Seton Catholic 147-38. Graves, a junior, won the 200 individual medley in 2 minutes, 16.63 seconds and the 100 breaststroke (1:15.53).
BOYS SWIMMING
Nathan Anderson, Chris Pickard and Scott Angell each won two events to lead host Arcadia to a 147-38 victory over Seton Catholic. Anderson won the 200 freestyle (2:03.17) and 100 butterfly (58.51), Pickard won the 50 freestyle (22.57) and 100 freestyle (49.70) and Angell won the 200 IM (2:14.43) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.69) for the Titans.
