Rishi Kakad kept host Horizon alive with 21 points as the Huskies came from behind Thursday to top Phoenix Trevor Browne, 80-77, in the second round of the 5A state boys basketball tournament.
Steven Harris chipped in 16 points and nine rebounds and Desmond Jones (16) and Jimmy Casey (16) combined for 32 points for the Huskies. Kaleo Kina led all scorers with 34 points and pulled down nine rebounds for the Bruins.
MOUNTAIN VIEW 67, PHOENIX NORTH 58: Eric Bossom had 15 points and Kevin Smith added 13 as the Toros advanced to the quarterfinals by downing the Mustangs. Deron Stafford had a game-high 23 points for North. Mountain View used an 18-7 run in the third quarter to take control.
