Outlook: With a victory over six-win Mesa High last week, Dobson doesn’t need wins in its final two games to reach postseason for the first time since 2003.

A split with Westwood and Mountain View would do fine.

Still, the Mustangs have played well against solid programs. They sport a 2-2 record against Basha, Glendale Mountain Ridge, Red Mountain and Mesa. Offensively they’ve developed better balance as the season has progressed. Last week, they piled up 200 yards rushing and passing against Mesa.

Westwood has dropped four straight games and became the first Mesa school to lose to Skyline last week. The Warriors will be out to put on a better show this evening for a homecoming crowd. They even have a hope, albeit a small one, of sneaking into postseason with a pair of wins and some help. Westwood’s rushing game missed top rusher Jeron Beaton last week. He’ll be back this week to help the Warriors try and pull off the upset.

Address: 945 W. 8th St. Mesa

Records: Dobson 6-2, 2-1; Westwood 2-6, 0-3

Last year’s meeting: Westwood 42, Dobson 0
