Updated baseball rankings as of April 16:

Division I

1. Brophy 16-5

2. Chaparral 18-6

3. Desert Mountain 18-7

4. Mesquite 18-6

5. Hamilton 17-7

6. Cienega 19-5

7. Mountain Pointe 15-8-1

8. Mountain View 16-7

9. Corona del Sol 16-9

10. Desert Ridge 16-10

It was a great week for Brophy, which defeated Hamilton once and St. Mary’s twice last week and has now won five straight to take over the top spot. Chaparral drops a spot to No. 2 after losing to Pinnacle last week, followed by streaking Desert Mountain, which has won six straight. Mesquite lost to Corona del Sol last week and drops to No. 4, while Hamilton falls to No. 5. Cienega and Mountain Pointe are each riding five game winning streaks to move up a couple spots, followed by Mountain View. Corona del Sol and Desert Ridge rejoin the rankings, bumping out Gilbert, which went 1-2 last week, and St. Mary’s, which lost a pair of games to Brophy.

Division II

1. Liberty 15-3

2. Sunnyslope 19-3-1

3. Sunrise Mountain 19-5

4. Saguaro 20-7

5. Sabino 20-5

6. Canyon del Oro 18-6

7. Arcadia 19-5

8, Salpointe 17-6

9. Sahuaro 15-8

10. Notre Dame 14-11

Liberty had another undefeated week and has now won nine straight to stay atop the rankings. Sunnyslope jumps up to No. 2, followed by Sunrise Mountain and Saguaro, which each lost a game last week to take a slight fall. Sabino is playing well and jumps up to No. 5, as is Canyon del Oro, which improves to No. 6. Arcadia and Salpointe drop a couple spots, Sahuaro stays the same, and Notre Dame joins the rankings at No. 10, taking the place of Apollo.

Division III

1. Estrella Foothills 18-5

2. River Valley 21-3

3. Scottsdale Christian 14-4-2

4. Blue Ridge 14-5

5. Winslow 19-5

Estrella Foothills lost last week, but it came to a 20-2 Verrado team, which is in Division II. It rebounded with a win over Gila Bend to stay atop the rankings. River Valley has now won 15 straight games and sticks at No. 2, and Scottsdale Christian stays at No. 3 on the strength of an eight-game winning streak. Blue Ridge went 2-0 last week to move up a spot to No. 4, flip-flopping with Winslow, which went 3-1.

Division IV

1. Phoenix Christian 13-5

2. St. David 18-2

3. Yuma Catholic 14-3-1

4. Valley Lutheran 13-6

5. Desert Christian 14-7

Phoenix Christian takes over the top spot after an undefeated week, followed by a St. David team that has won seven straight games. Yuma Catholic falls a couple spots after a loss last week, followed by Valley Lutheran and Desert Christian, which went 0-2 last week to drop to No. 5.
