The Scottsdale Notre Dame girls swim team nearly swept the girls events at the Queen Creek Oasis Classic at Canyon State Academy Saturday, taking gold in ten of 12 events for a 112-point win over second-place Mesa Desert Ridge.
Prescott Valley Bradshaw Mountain, Mesa Skyline and Queen Creek rounded out the top five. Sophomore Haleigh Thompson and junior Molly Snittjer each won two individual events for the Saints, as well as swimming on Notre Dame’s three winning relay teams.
On the boys side, Desert Ridge edged Notre Dame by 11 points. Notre Dame twins Alex and Ben Brouwer each won two individual events, with Alex meeting an All-American consideration time of 55.97 in the 100 backstroke. Queen Creek, Bradshaw Mountain and Higley finished third through fifth respectively.
