Quarterback Gary Hall ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as Canyon State Academy opened the season with a 34-0 shutout of visiting Fort Thomas Friday in a 1A non-region game.
Hall rushed for 142 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown scamper in the second quarter. He also passed for 138 yards and connected with Isaiah Sullivan on a 20-yard touchdown for the game’s first score.
Running back Derrick Holley rushed for 88 yards and ran for 2-point conversions on both touchdowns he scored for the Rams.
Daniel Starkey picked off two passes for Canyon State and linebacker Cameron Pertzborn also had an interception.
