03/15 - Higley routs region foe Sedona Red Rock

Kelly Shepard went 3-for-3 with a triple, four runs scored and two stolen bases to pace Higley to a 13-2 softball victory over visiting Sedona Red Rock on Friday in a 3A West Region game.

Catcher Danielle Wildermuth also went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs while Amanda Brennan was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs for the Knights (6-1, 1-0). Pitcher Izzy Pines (3-0) allowed only two hits to the Scorpions (0-5, 0-2).

HIGHLAND 13, PHOENIX SHADOW MOUNTAIN 3: The visiting Hawks got a 4-for-4 performance from Shannon Phillips as they routed the Matadors in a 5A non-region game.

Paige Willcoxson went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for Highland (3-8).

Lindsay McHenry had a solo home run. Danielle Tineda (2-8) got the win, allowing three hits.

CORONA DEL SOL 1, HAMILTON 0: Corona pitcher Michelle Farrell, who no-hit Phoenix Xavier on Tuesday, gave up only one-hit and struck out 15 as the Aztecs (6-0) shut out the visiting Huskies in a 5A non-region game.

SETON 10, TUCSON SAHUARITA 0: The Sentinels' Sydney Sheedy gave up just two hits in six shutout innings against the host Mustangs in a 3A South Region game.

Sheedy (2-0) struck out six for Seton (2-0, 2-0) while teammate Shelby Davis went 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs.

Teammate Sarah Hershkowitz was 3-for-3.
