Varsity Xtra’s popular website will be back to its old self in the near future — only better.
The Tribune’s high school sports site — varsity.evtrib.com — changed temporarily after the sale of the paper from Freedom Communications to 1013 Communications. We have since acquired the server that hosted the old Varsity website, which was located in Orange County, Calif., and should have it up and running by Aug. 1.
Varsity.evtrib.com will look and feel much like the old site with the popular Shout Box, our VX blog, polls, VX scholars, player profiles and other features. We’ll have improvements to some of those items and we’ll add some new features as well when we relaunch on Aug. 1. More enhancements to the site will come next month as we get ready for the fall sports season. But we don’t want to give away too much away too early.
Until then, you can still keep up with our high school coverage on the current high school sports website at varsity.evtrib.com.
