Tempe Prep shut down the high-powered San Tan Foothills offense, Friday, and scored the final 14 points of the game to pick-up a 21-20 come-from-behind victory on the road in a Division V, Section II matchup.

After Anthony Brittain scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter to cut the Sabercats lead to 20-14, the Knights (6-3) went ahead on a 28-yard touchdown run by back Ahmari Underwood that gave Tempe Prep its first lead of the game it wouldn't relinquish.

Underwood led the Knights with 121 yards rushing on 17 carries.

After scoring all 20 points in the second quarter, including a 70-yard fumble return for a score by Julian Navarette to start the quarter, San Tan Foothills struggled to move the ball in the second half against Tempe Prep's stout defense.

Carlos Melendez rushed for two scores (6 and 16 yards) to pace the Sabercats.

The win was the Knights' fourth consecutive victory. They will go for their fifth straight next Friday against top-ranked Northwest Christian. San Tan Foothills (6-3) will host Yuma Catholic.

Scottsdale Prep 60, Bagdad 7: Playing in its first AIA playoff game, the No. 6-seed Spartans looked like a seasoned vet versus visiting Bagdad, easily defeating the Sultans in the first round of the Division VI playoffs.

The Spartans ran through Bagdad's defense, racking up 318 yards rushing on 38 attempts led by their quarterback Aidan Wright who rushed for three touchdowns and 191 yards on 17 attempts.

Wright's teammate, running back Connor McKenzie, chipped in with 103 yards and a score on 14 attempts. Wright also had a good night through the air, too, going 17-for-30 for 265 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Aidan's brother, Ethan Wright, caught two of those scores, including a 42-yard touchdown when Scottsdale Prep (8-1) hung 30 points on the Sultans (6-3) in the quarter. Ethan finished with 4 catches for 104 yards.

Defensively, the Spartans' Matt Munsil recorded 16 tackles and picked off Sultan quarterback James Loveall.

Scottsdale Prep will travel to No.-3 seed St. David next Friday.

Brophy 42, Westwood 15: Brophy's Tyler Bruggman threw for 165 yards and four touchdowns as the Broncos jumped on host Westwood (1-8) early and often in beating the Warriors. Bruggman came out firing, completing 11 of 14 passes as Brophy scored all of its points in the first half. With the win the Broncos improved to 9-0 on the season and will look to stay undefeated when they travel to Pinnacle Oct. 28 in the regular season finale.

Coronado 21, Payson 0: Coronado quarterback Reid Blakey threw for a fourth quarter touchdown and ran for another to help the Dons pull away from visiting Payson. With a Grant Camacho 15-yard second quarter touchdown the difference in the game heading into the fourth, Blakey gave Coronado (4-5) some much-needed breathing room when he threw a 25-yard scoring strike to Anthony Hantzsche to give the Dons a 14-0 lead. For added insurance, Blakey ran it in from 1-yard out to put the Longhorns away. Coronado will play host to Combs next Friday.
