Key matchup: Chaparral quarterback Spencer Stone has been electric in his first year as a starter, but Copper Canyon is only giving up 12.5 points per game.

Key stat: Chaparral wide receiver Mike Cummings has 22 catches for 396 yards and six touchdowns in three games, not including two touchdowns that were called back because of penalties.

The intrigue: Chaparral begins the region slate next week, but Copper Canyon already has a pair of wins against decent programs (Seton and Phoenix Sunnyslope) and shouldn’t be looked at as a pushover.
