Tempe McClintock played like Phoenix Thunderbird was going to be a pushover Friday night, but the Chargers were shocked as the Chiefs rolled to a 34-14 region win.

The Chargers (6-3, 1-2 4A Desert Sky) fell behind 21-0 before Kelly Kurzman found Malcolm Martin on a streak that went for an 80-yard score late in the third quarter.

Following a Thunderbird (2-7, 1-3) score in the third, Kurzman capped a 7-play drive with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Martin with 10:31 left.

The Chargers rally stalled as Kurzman was sacked on fourth-and-17 at the Chiefs' 47 with 6:24 left.
