Phoenix Desert Vista quarterback Mark Lund threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns on 8-of-12 passing, as the Thunder rolled to a 56-20 homecoming win Friday over Yuma Kofa in 5A nonregion action.

Lund’s efforts accompanied two school records: Luke Matthews ran 95 yards on the opening kickoff to eclipse the former mark by 7 yards, and Jordan Litke kicked his 26th extra point in a row.

The Thunder (5-3) got strong efforts from Chris Jones, (99 yards rushing, one TD on eight carries) and Bryant St. Cyr (two touchdown receptions for 128 yards).
