Scottsdale Horizon right-hander Tim Alderson was named Arizona’s 2007 Louisville Slugger State High School Baseball Player of the Year on Wednesday.
He was chosen by coaches who are members of the National High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Alderson led the Huskies to the 5A-I state title and was chosen by the San Francisco Giants with the 22nd pick in the MLB amateur draft in June. The Tribune’s two-time player of the year has committed to two-time defending champion Oregon State if he chooses college.
