After allowing a touchdown on Glendale’s opening drive Friday night, the Scottsdale Coronado Dons were able to clamp down for the remainder of the contest and cruise to a 24-7 victory.
Junior quarterback Skylar Glessing led the Dons to two touchdowns — one a 4-yard strike to senior Nolan Lamb, the other a 38-yard score to senior Justin Laurent. The 17-7 first-half lead allowed Coronado to run the football, and junior running back Travis Huff took full advantage.
Huff finished the game with 22 carries for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Huff could have surpassed 200 yards were it not for some runs called back due to penalty.
