Host Red Mountain took awhile to get going but came back to beat Mesa High 20-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-12 in a 5A Divsion I Fiesta Region girls volleyball match on Tuesday.
The Lions were playing without their libero who injured her ankle in a tournament over the weekend, but led by Heather Leavitt, Red Mountain settled down and mounted a furious comeback.
Leavitt finished with 27 kills and 21 digs, Emily Franklin added 15 kills and 9 blocks, while Hannah Kalehuawehe finished with 40 assists.
Madison Serrano led visiting Basha past Mountain View in a 5A-I Central Region match. Serrano finished with 10 kills, three aces and 12 digs for the Bears. Sydnee Arnson added 22 assists.
Jensen Barton had 21 assists as host Arcadia beat Higley, 25-17, 25-16, 25-13. Izzy Miller added eight kills and four blocks for the Titans.
Host Cactus Shadows beat Combs, 25-4, 25-4, 25-7. Cassie Beatovich led the Falcons with five kills, three aces and 10 assists. Jordan Smith added nine aces and 13 digs.
