Outlook: It’s been a tale of two seasons for Chino Valley. The Cougars opened the season 4-0 against a pair of 2A teams and two 3A teams with a combined record of 2-11.

Since that start, the Cougars have yet to score a point.

Despite his teams’ 26-12 loss to Wickenburg last week, Fountain Hills coach Jim Fairfield was pleased with the way his offense played against the top-ranked Wranglers.

Jason Fairfield had his best game of the season, throwing for 191 yards. And on the ground, the Falcons were able to put up 175 yards.

Chino Valley is led by running back Johnny Ray Kennedy (625 yards and six touchdowns) and sophomore quarterback Cole Whisenhunt (464 yards passing, six touchdowns). Fairfield said if the Falcons can stop the Cougars’ running game, his line — led by Cameron Estes, Josh Privelli and James Vancel — has been able to put pressure on teams and could cause some troubles for Whisenhunt.
