Dymond Simon led all scorers with 23 points as 5A topranked Phoenix St. Mary’s (15-0, 3-0) defeated visiting Horizon, 72-52, Tuesday in a girls 5A Desert Valley Region match-up.

Carrie Beaumont scored 13 points and Cody Gahan had 11 for the Huskies (10-6, 1-1).

VALLEY CHRISTIAN 40, VALLEY LUTHERAN 16: Ali French had 12 points to lead the Trojans (15-4, 3-0 2A Metro) over the visiting Flames. Wittney Hanenburg, Sarah Visser and Jessica Moore all had eight rebounds for Valley Christian.

MOUNTAIN POINTE 61, PHOENIX TREVOR BROWNE 26: Junior Nicole Anders nearly outscored the Bruins (4-8) with 20 points to lead host Mountain Pointe (10-6) to a 5A nonregion win. Yvonne Nuguid added 14 points for the Pride.

WESTWOOD 55, SKYLINE 25: April Pina led the host Warriors (9-5, 2-1) with 16 points as they downed the Coyotes in a 5A East Valley Region contest. Priscilla Yanez and Tameka Willis each added 10 points for Westwood. Jade Furnas scored 11 points for Skyline.

SETON CATHOLIC 75, COOLIDGE 39:

The visiting Sentinels (12-3, 4-0) got 28 points and 16 rebounds from Tina Wirth to beat the Bears in a 3A South Region matchup. Katrina Jax added 14 points for Seton and Mary Placido had 12 assists and 11 points.

CHAPARRAL 61, CORONADO 23:

Molly Schlander had 14 points as the host Firebirds (13-4, 3-0) cruised past the Dons in a 4A East Sky matchup. Robin Sendlein had 10 rebounds for Chaparral.

SAGUARO 39, ARCADIA 27: Jessica Hammer scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the host Sabercats (8-8, 4-0) over the Titans. Brittany Pihl had eight points and eight rebounds for Arcadia.

HIGHLAND 80, MESA 49: Amanda Venard had 16 points for Hawks (13-3) as they defeated the visiting Jackrabbits (4-1) in a 5A non-region game.

CORONA DEL SOL 50, HAMILTON 30:

Lisa Helmers and Amy Rosenkrantz had 13 points apiece as the host Aztecs (12-5) defeated the Huskies (3-7) in a 5A non-region contest. Sy Janousek added 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals for Corona.

APACHE JUNCTION 51, DESERT RIDGE 36: In a 4A East Sky Region contest, the visiting Prospectors topped the Jaguars as Shannon Fox scored 12 points. Sam Enderle led all scoring with 15 points for Desert Ridge.

RED MOUNTAIN 62, YUMA CIBOLA 41: Kayla Pederson scored 18 points and pulled down 18 rebounds to help the visiting Mountain Lions (10-7, 3-0) defeat the Raiders in a 5A East Valley Regional matchup. Nicole Childers had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds for Red Mountain.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 55, GILBERT 39:

Jaclyn Wesolowski scored 19 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the Toros (8-7) over the visiting Tigers (6-9) in a 5A non-region game. Nicole Rodriguez led Gilbert with 18 points.

FOUNTAIN HILLS 35, ESTRELLA FOOTHILLS 18: Katherine Ashley and Julie Fauntin led the host Falcons (4-9, 1-3) with 10 points each in a 3A South Region win over the Wolves.

QUEEN CREEK 59, HIGLEY 14: Newcomer Whitney Hardt had 18 points, seven assists and seven steals for the Bulldogs (11-6, 4-0) as they beat the visiting Knights (5-9, 1-3).

GLENDALE 61, MCCLINTOCK 49: Sarah Staggs had 21 points for the host Cardinals as they defeated the Chargers in a 4A Skyline Region game.

BOYS

HORIZON 76, PHOENIX ST. MARY’S 75: Steven Harris hit a gamewinning free throw with 4.5 seconds left for the host Huskies (10-3, 2-0) as they beat the Knights (8-6, 2-1) in a 5A Desert Valley Region game.

Rishi Kakad scored 36 points including seven 3-pointers to lead the Huskies. Jimmy Casey added 16 points for Horizon.

SETON CATHOLIC 72, COOLIDGE 60:

Drew Arnold scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the host Sentinels (11-3, 3-1) beat the Bears (9-6, 2-2) in a 3A South Region game. Matt Refner added 14 points and eight assists for Seton.

CHAPARRAL 64, CORONADO 54: Andrew Washko had 18 points for the visiting Firebirds (10-5) in a 4A East Sky Region win over the Dons (10-5, 2-2). Tareq Ramerez had 17 points and six rebounds to lead Coronado.

DOBSON 81, PHOENIX CENTRAL 47:

Drew Thurston led the Mustangs (12-4) with 18 points in a victory over the visiting Bobcats in a 5A non-region game. Matt McConnell scored 14 points and Josh Roth added 12 for Dobson.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 50, GILBERT 39:

The visiting Toros (14-0) remained undefeated behind Eric Bossom, who scored 16 points. Tyler Molesworth added 12 points for Mountain View and Stas Chomokos led Gilbert (9-6) with 16 points.

RED MOUNTAIN 69, YUMA CIBOLA 59: David Hall had 14 points and nine assists as the host Mountain Lions (6-7, 1-1) defeated the Raiders (6-7, 0-3) in a 5A East Valley Region contest. Tanner Roberts added 14 points for Red Mountain.

AVONDALE WESTVIEW 57, MESQUITE 49: Leon Cruz scored 33 points for the visiting Knights as they defeated the Wildcats (2-12) in 5A non-region action. Matt Faubian scored 13 points for Mesquite and Jeff Dornik added 10.

APACHE JUNCTION 64, DESERT RIDGE 57: Steve Ellman had 33 points to lead the Prospectors (10-5) over the visiting Jaguars in a 4A East Sky Region game. Halisi Tambyzi had 23 points for Desert Ridge.

HIGLEY 52, QUEEN CREEK 47: Jeff Clark scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help the Knights (9-4, 2-2) beat the visiting Bulldogs (6-8, 1-3) in a 3A South Region game. Brent Beirdneau added 13 points for Higley.

MCCLINTOCK 71, GLENDALE 29:

Gabe Freeman had 20 points as the host Chargers (14-2, 5-0) beat the Cardinals in a 4A Skyline Region contest. Marcus Nicholson and Jermaine Calvin added 10 points apiece for McClintock.

WESTWOOD 68, SKYLINE 54: Paul Mallory led the Warriors (6-6, 1-2) with 18 points and six assists in a win over the host Coyotes (6-9, 0-3) in a 5A East Valley Region contest. Corey Brown led Skyline with 18 points and Tyrone Araya had 16 points.

VALLEY CHRISTIAN 92, VALLEY LUTHERAN 39: David Mehlhorn and Ben Bergsma had 15 points apiece as the Trojans (14-1, 3-0) easily defeated the Flames in a 2A Metro Region matchup.

SAGUARO 55, ARCADIA 33: Derek Tarapacki had 15 points to lead all scorers as the visiting Sabercats downed the Titans (6-9, 0-3) in a 4A East Sky Region game. Danny O’Boyle and Justin Ashbaugh each scored 12 points for Saguaro.

PHOENIX BROPHY 63, DESERT MOUNTAIN 53: Chad Goldstein had 16 points for the Wolves (9-5, 1-1) in a loss to the host Broncos (11-2, 1-1) in a 5A Desert Valley Region game. Michael Strittmatter had 17 points for Brophy.

MOUNTAIN POINTE 57, PHOENIX TREVOR BROWNE 54: Eric Hipolito scored 19 points to lead the visiting Pride (5-7) over the Bruins in a 5A non-region game. Adam Arreola had 15 points and Steve Berrelleza 14 for Mountain Pointe.

CACTUS SHADOWS 58, NOTRE DAME 47: Matt Coakley had 13 points, six rebounds and four steals but the Saints fell to the Falcons in a 4A Desert Sky Region game.

HAMILTON 51, CORONA DEL SOL 46:

Brian Schaeffer led all scorers with 28 points as the host Huskies (6-8) defeated the Aztecs (10-4) in a 5A non-region game. T.J. Benson led Corona with 17 points.

SCOTTSDALE CHRISTIAN 83, PRECISION 31: Kevin Coble had 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the host Eagles (14-0, 1-0) over the Panthers in a 2A Metro Region game. Richard Ramsey added 14 points for Scottsdale Christian.
