No. 1 Cactus Shadows ended No. 8 Notre Dame's emotional season, 1-0, thanks to a penalty kick in 62nd minute by Madi Pascale for the Falcons.

A foul in the box was called on Notre Dame Prep and Cactus Shadows capitalized on one of the few scoring opportunities in the game.

A few minutes before the penalty kick Notre Dame's Cadi Naquin had a nice look at a goal but Brenna Leech made a fantastic defensive play as she headed the ball off the line, Leech also drew the foul that led to the penalty kick.

Cactus Shadows will face Raymond Kellis in the Div. II semifinals on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Paradise Valley High School.

In other Div. II action, No. 10 Arcadia continued its run with a physical, emotionally-charged 3-2 win over No. 15 Tucson Sabino.

Sabino struck first in the first five minutes of the match, and while both teams continued to have chances, nothing budged until eight minutes remained in regulation. Kate Staudenmaier nailed a free kick from 30 yards out to the match at 1-1 and force overtime.

The Titans scored twice in a three-minute span late in the first OT session. A transition play allowed a run for Tianna Stewart, who threaded a perfect pass to Grace Kim for a 2-1 lead.

A couple minutes later, Kim knocked in a rebound off a Staudenmaier blast that hit the crossbar. Sabino pulled within 3-2 in the second overtime but the Titans held on in the final four minutes.
