Marcos de Niza overcame a five point deficit with a minute left in the game to defeat visiting Westwood 60-57, Friday.
After squandering a five-point lead, Westwood battled back to pull within three, but the Padres were able to hold on down the stretch.
Brandon Maggiano led the way for Marcos de Niza (1-2), finishing with 19 points.
Randall Richardson and Josh Brown both scored 14 apiece for Westwood (0-3).
Scottsdale Christian's Cody Ostertag scored 19 points, but it wasn't enough as the Eagles lost to visiting Estrella Foothills, 81-80, on a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
With the game knotted up at 62-62 going into the final period, Scottsdale Christian (0-2) took a two point lead with seconds left in the fourth quarter, before the Wolves his the game winning basket.
Ryan Kelley scored a game-high 21 points for Estrella Foothills.

After the Sabercats' Juan Cortez and the Chargers' Luis Estrada scored goals for their respective teams in the first half, it was a defensive struggle the rest of the way until Abram knocked in the game-winner for Saguaro (1-1).
