Tribune softball rankings as of April 15:

Division I

1. Mountain Ridge

2. Horizon

3. Basha

4. Gilbert

5. Red Mountain

6. Xavier

7. Mountain View

8. Desert Mountain

9. Desert Ridge

10. Perry

No changes in the top half as every team won out, though there are some good matchups this week which could cause another shakeup (Horizon hosts Hamilton on Tuesday and plays at Mountain View on Thursday; Basha is at Xavier on Tuesday and at Desert Ridge on Friday; Gilbert at Pinnacle on Friday). The switcheroo begins at No. 6, where Xavier and Desert Mountain both move up two spots for winning out last week, and the Gators get a couple big tests this week with Basha and at Chaparral on Friday. Mountain View falls a spot after being shut out by Red Mountain and Desert Ridge drops a spot after splitting with Perry last week. The Pumas fall a bit further in also falling, 2-1, to Highland, but the Pumas (who host Hamilton on Thursday) hang on to the final spot for now with Centennial, Desert Vista (which has won seven consecutive games), Chaparral and Corona del Sol waiting in the wings.

Division II

1. Sunrise Mountain

2. Canyon del Oro

3. Paradise Valley

4. Greenway

5. Raymond S. Kellis

Sunrise Mountain and CDO are neck-and-neck, but Sunrise Mountain is riding a 20-game winning streak (the Mustangs only loss this season was to Mountain Ridge on Feb . 28) and will get a couple good tests this week against Cactus on Tuesday, at Raymond S. Kellis on Thursday and hosting Liberty on Friday. Both CDO and Paradise Valley are on six-game winning streaks since the Desert Mountain tournament, and David Moore’s Trojans have a solid chance at winning out the rest of their regular season schedule. Cactus’ short stay in the rankings is over for now after losing to Centennial and Greenway last week, though its strength of schedule is among the best in Div. II. Kellis slips back into the rankings slightly ahead of Sahuaro, Flagstaff, Ironwood Ridge and Verrado.

Division III

1. Winslow

2. Estrella Foothills

3. Empire

4. Benson

5. Morenci

No changes here as everyone won out last week.

Division IV

1. AZ Lutheran

2. NW Christian

3. Phoenix Christian

4. St. Johns

5. Tanque Verde

St. Johns falls two spots after a 6-0 loss to Snowflake last week, so NW Christian and Phoenix Christian both move up. Phoenix Christian hosts Tempe Prep on Thursday, while NW Christian and Valley Chrsitian play Friday afternoon at Kiwanis Park in Tempe. Salt River slips out of the rankings after falling to Scottsdale Christian, and Tanque Verde wins out for the No. 5 spot ahead of the Christian schools and San Manuel.
