Neither a blowout loss last year nor records at the opposite ends of the spectrum this season fazed Scottsdale Coronado when it met archrival Phoenix Arcadia on Friday night at Coronado.
Coronado quarterback Skyler Glessing hit a wide-open Paul Groth at the front pylon of the end zone with 18 seconds left in the game, pulling off a 24-21 Coronado win. On the winning drive, the Dons (4-6, 2-3 East Sky Region) drove 65 yards in 2 minutes, 3 seconds. Three times during the drive Glessing connected on throws to Nolan Lamb for crucial first downs.
After falling behind 14-0, Arcadia (8-2, 3-2) took a 21-17 lead on McDuffie's 1-yard keeper with less than three minutes remaining.
