The Major League Baseball draft finished up Wednesday. Here are the players with local ties who were taken from rounds 31-50:
Jake Schlander, a shortstop from Chaparral who plays for Stanford, went to the Mariners in the 31st round.
Derek Cone, a right-hander from Desert Vista who played at Mesa Community College this year, went to the Dodgers in the 31st round.
D.J. Peterson, a corner infielder from Gilbert High, was taken by the Mariners in the 33rd round.
Konner Wade, a right-hander from Chaparral, was a 35th round selection of the Diamondbacks.
T.C. Mark, a catcher from Pinnacle, was drafted by the Brewers in the 35th round.
Logan Davis, a shortstop from Cactus Shadows, was taken by the Rockies in round 38.
Jaycob Brugman, an outfielder from Desert Vista, was taken in the 39th round by the Yankees.
Ryan Casillas, an infielder from Hamilton, went in the 40th round to the Diamondbacks.
Mike Benjamin, a shortstop for Basha and the son of the former big leaguer with the same name, went in the 45th round to the Rockies.
Jorge Flores, a shortstop at Hamilton, went in the 46th round to the Diamondbacks.
Casey Upperman, a former Notre Dame right-hander who pitched at Yavapai this season, went in the 47th round to the Diamondbacks.
Kenny Hatcher, a third baseman for Chandler-Gilbert who played at Gilbert High, was drafted by the Angels in the 47th round.
Trey Ford, a third baseman who played for Chaparral and was at South Mountain this season, was taken by the Diamondbacks in the 50th round.
Taylor Kaczmarek, a right-hander from Desert Ridge, was taken by the Dodgers in the 50th round.
