Updated baseball rankings, as of April 2:

Division I

1. Chaparral 15-4

2. Mesquite 16-4

3. Hamilton 13-5

4. Brophy 11-5

5. Desert Mountain 13-7

6. Corona del Sol 14-5

7. Red Mountain 14-5

8. Mountain Pointe 10-7-1

9. Basha 13-6

10. St. Mary’s 17-2-1

Chaparral takes over the top spot after winning games against Desert Mountain and North Canyon last week to push its winning streak to eight games. Mesquite is scorching hot with 13 wins in its past 14 games, including a 3-0 stretch last week which included a win over then-top-ranked Hamilton, and moves up to No. 2. The Huskies drop to third, followed by Brophy. Desert Mountain blew a three-run lead in the bottom of the seventh last week to Chaparral but rebounded to beat Mountain View a day later. Corona del Sol and Red Mountain had good weeks and move up a few spots each. Mountain Pointe went 2-2 and dropped. Basha went 1-2 last week but the win was over No. 1 Hamilton, so the Bears stay in the rankings. St. Mary’s has the best record in Division I and joins the top-10, but the competition hasn’t been fierce and more will be known about the Knights when they play Brophy twice in mid-April.

Division II

1. Sunrise Mountain 14-2

2. Sunnyslope 15-2-1

3. Saguaro 16-5

4. Sabino 16-4

5. Liberty 9-3

6. Arcadia 16-4

7. Canyon del Oro 12-6

8. Paradise Valley 12-6

9. Sahuaro 12-7

10. Salpointe 13-5

Saguaro’s season-long hold on the top spot in the rankings is no more after a pair of losses to Notre Dame and Paradise Valley this week. Sunrise Mountain elevates to No. 1, followed by Sunnyslope and then Saguaro. Sabino, Liberty and Arcadia hold firm in the middle of the top-10, while Canyon del Oro jumps up a few spots and Paradise Valley re-enters the rankings. Sahuaro and Salpointe round out the top-10.

Division III

1. Estrella Foothills 13-2

2. Blue Ridge 9-3

3. River Valley 19-3

4. Winslow 11-3

5. Scottsdale Christian 10-4-2

The top-3 spots stay the same as Estrella Foothills and River Valley went undefeated last week and Blue Ridge was idle. Winslow jumps into the rankings at No. 4, replacing Fountain Hills, while Scottsdale Christian sticks at No. 5.

Division IV

1. Yuma Catholic 9-2

2. Desert Christian 14-5

3. Phoenix Christian 10-4

4. St. David 14-2

5. St. Johns 9-6

Yuma Catholic takes over the top spot from Desert Christian, which lost a game to Pusch Ridge last week. Phoenix Christian holds at No. 3, St. David stays at No. 4 and St. Johns slips in at No. 5.
