First team

P Kent Hasler Hamilton Struck out 75 hitters in 66 innings and allowed one home run all season.

C Chase Anderson Mountain View Combined patience and a little pop at the plate.

IF Jeremy McCuin Perry Cut down on the strikeouts and upped his power during his junior season; still has room to grow as a hitter.

IF Luis Perez Tempe One of the state leaders in on-base percentage and sported a batting average above .500.

IF David Thomas Mesa Prep His .782 average led all Arizona hitters, as did his 1.345 slugging percentage and .778 on-base percentage.

IF Austin Filiere Hamilton Showcased excellent blend of power, on-base skills, defense and reliability when it mattered most.

OF Ernie de la Trinidad Mountain Pointe One of the top center fielders in the state will take his skills to the University of Arizona this fall.

OF Cole Valletta Mesquite Hit eight homers, which tied him for ninth in the state and put him first among East Valley sluggers.

OF Hayden Harden Tempe Prep A productive hitter who specialized in getting on base.

Utility Cole Tucker Mountain Pointe Powerful switch hitter was taken in the first round by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Utility Jacob Boston Hamilton Made the most of his one year on varsity, ending the year with a 1.203 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Player of the Year: Austin Filiere, Hamilton

Coach of the Year: Jeff Holland: Wildcats went from second-round fodder in 2013 to the state championship game in 2014.

Second Team

P Zach Pederson Hamilton Primed to take over ex-teammate Hasler’s role as Hamilton’s ace next season.

C Dylan Rosoff Campo Verde Hammered the ball all season and accumulated 21 extra-base hits.

IF Ethan DeWit Valley Christian Improved across the board as a hitter in his sophomore year.

IF Micah Izquierdo Valley Christian Displayed a strong batting eye as evidenced by his 12:1 walk-to-strikeout ratio.

IF Ben Brittain Chandler Prep Slugged nine triples and scored 38 runs as a junior.

IF Ryan Kottcamp Queen Creek Wasn’t quite the offensive player he was last year, but still put up great numbers for the Bulldogs.

OF Garrison Schwartz Desert Vista Ended his senior season with 16 extra-base hits and progressed at the plate.

OF Wyatt Wilson Chandler Hit .383 and got on base at a .453 clip as a junior.

OF Ryan Peep Hamilton Bashed six homers and walked 17 times as a senior.

Utility Chase Beal Queen Creek A good hitter and excellent pitcher who struck out 77 batters in 59 innings.

Utility Brent Bailey Mountain View Improved as a hitter in his junior season and flashed potential on the mound.
