Feidler’s coast-to-coast rush lifts Mesquite

With five minutes left in overtime Mesquite’s Kimmie Feidler dribbled the ball the length of the field and scored a left-footed game-winning goal from the upper right corner to give the visiting Wildcats a 3-2 victory over Chandler in a 5A Fiesta Region girls soccer game on Tuesday night. Vanessa Stone added two goals for the Wildcats (2-4, 1-0). The Wolves’ (2-3, 0-1) goals were scored by Selena Brocamonte and Shannon Adair.

Girls soccer

Higley defeated Desert Edge 4-3 in the Sandra Day O’Connor Tournament. Danica Webb and Carissa LaFevers each had two goals to give Higley (4-1) the victory. Higley plays Buckeye today to determine who moves on to the semifinals.

Boys soccer

Due to an injured right hand, Mesa goalkeeper Dustin Clarke was moved to forward in a matchup vs. Phoenix Central. The senior, last year’s All-East Valley Region goalkeeper, provided a needed offensive spark, scoring all four of the Jackrabbits’ (6-1) goals in a 4-1 victory over the host Bobcats (0-5). …

Skyline scored seven goals in the second half on its way to defeating visiting Phoenix Trevor Browne 8-0. Bryce Albertsman had six saves to earn the shutout for the Coyotes (4-3). Skyline’s Willie Archiega scored two goals. …

Finley O’Neill scored two goals as host Highland beat Hamilton 2-1 in a 5A Fiesta Region game. O’Neill tied the game in the second half at the 60-minute mark and then scored the winning goal at the 72-minute mark for the Hawks (5-2, 1-0).

Boys basketball

Tom Fow scored his 1,500th career point and broke the school single- game rebounding record with 19 as host Notre Dame beat Arcadia 75-54 in a 4A nonregion game. Fow finished with a game-high 26 points.

Girls basketball

Stevie Kamp had her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as host Mountain View thumped Horizon 67-24 in a 5A nonregion game.

A story in Tuesday’s Tribune should have mentioned that Basha, not Hamilton, is the newest high school built in the Chandler school district.
