The streak is over. Phoenix Carl Hayden High School's football team has finally snapped a 66-game losing streak.

Carl Hayden defeated visiting San Luis Thursday night 44-21. For coach Cleveland Dansby, the win improves his record to 1-42.

Dansby says he feels a "thousand pounds lighter" after the win, the first since 2002.

Carl Hayden reserve quarterback Ulises Contreras completed 10 of 15 passes for 127 yards and was not intercepted.

The school plans to celebrate the win during an assembly Friday afternoon.
