Outlook: There’s no trace of regret from the Trojans’ camp after falling inches short twice in two gamewinning 2-point conversion attempts.

The latest came last week in a triple-overtime thriller against St. Mary’s. “One of the best games you’ll ever watch,” according to P.V. coach Donnie Yantis.

The game was a scoreless tie entering the fourth quarter before the floodgates opened.

“They’re not feeling sorry for themselves against a pretty good St. Mary’s team,” Yantis said. “We’re going to be fine.”

The playoffs are still within reach for P.V., which has Shadow Mountain and a big game against Horizon to close out its schedule. The Trojans ran for more than 320 yards, but penalties continue to hamper the Trojans, including four consecutive holding calls.

Nothing seems to be working for Desert Mountain lately. Cory Campbell has held up at quarterback, completing 67 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns, but the running game hasn’t worked. Tony Tabor’s first season may be a forgettable one, but the Wolves won’t cheat themselves on effort.
