The Tribune's girls basketball rankings for the week:

1. Gilbert 19-5

2. St. Mary’s 14-5

3. Dobson 21-5

4. Hamilton 17-5

5. Highland 18-6

Gilbert and St. Mary’s each posted a pair of wins to keep their spots atop the rankings. Dobson’s loss last week came at Gilbert. Hamilton and Highland had perfect weeks to supplant Mountain View and Chandler at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

1. Tolleson 20-4

2. Pinnacle 16-9

3. Kingman 19-2

4. Rincon 14-5

5. Valley Vista 14-5

Tolleson rolls on. Pinnacle continues to stumble, but is still the second-best team in 5A-II. A distant second to Tolleson. Kingman lost to 5A-I Mountain Ridge, but stays at No. 3. Rincon and Valley Vista won twice each.

1. Apollo 18-3

2. Cienega 19-2

3. Sahuaro 20-3

4. Shadow Mountain 20-5

5. Prescott 17-4

Cienega knocked off last week’s No. 1 Sahuaro and moved from 3 to 2. Apollo held serve in the 4A Western Sky, winning twice to take over the top spot after being No. 2 last week. Sahuaro dipped to No. 3 and Shadow Mountain and Prescott held firm. Apollo faces Prescott on Tuesday in a key matchup in the Western Sky.

1. Seton Catholic 19-4

2. Flagstaff 11-3

3. Thunderbird 14-5

4. Page 10-3

5. Cactus 14-4

It was a week of nothing but victories for the entire top 5, so no change. Flagstaff and Page meet again in 10 days and Thunderbird and Cactus collide on Tuesday.

1. Window Rock 16-4

2. Monument Valley 16-5

3. Winslow 17-4

4. Safford 19-1

5. Holbrook 17-8

3. Arizona Lutheran Academy 18-3

4. Pima 21-4

5. Scottsdale Christian 17-6

The 2A Central (VC-SCA) and the 2A West (PC and ALA) remained solid. Pima’s holding up well in the 2A East.

1. Gila Bend 26-2

2. Salt River 25-4

3. Valley Lutheran 22-6

4. Salome 17-5

5. Fort Thomas 15-4

Valley Lutheran switched places with Salome with its 47-44 win over Salome last Monday. Gila Bend, Salt River and Fort Thomas kept up their winning ways.
