Address: 800 W. Northern Ave., Coolidge; Records: Snowflake 6-4, Coolidge 8-1; Gametime: 7:00 p.m.

Outlook:

These two teams opened their seasons against each other and tonight, one of them is going to end their season. Coolidge went to Snowflake and came away with a 21-14 win, but both teams have changed a lot since then.

“Personnel, they’ve pretty much stayed the same but they’ve just gotten better,” Coolidge coach Carlo Hernandez said. “There were a lot of mental and physical mistakes that first game because both teams were young.”

Both teams have since gained experience, especially Coolidge junior QB Jesse Wheeler. In the opener, Wheeler struggled, fumbling four times on exchanges from the center or with the running back. Wheeler has since straightened things out, throwing for 1,270 yards and 21 touchdowns this season.

Snowflake quarterback Derek Fusselman has thrown for 1,364 yards and running back Payton Reidhead has run for 1,021 yards, giving the Lobos a potent combination in the backfield.
