Address: 800 W. Northern Ave., Coolidge; Records: Santa Cruz 2-7, 1-4 South Region; Coolidge 7-1, 5-0; Gametime: 7:00 p.m.

Outlook:

Having wrapped up the South Region title a week ago, the Bears simply want to take care of business against the Dust Devils.

Coolidge coach Carlo Hernandez said that if given the chance, he’ll get his key players like quarterback Jesse Wheeler and running back T.J. White out of the game, but the Bears will have to have a big lead before that happens. Hernandez said he learned a hard lesson in last year’s 3A state championship game when his team lost after having a 20-point lead in the second half.

“That’s always in the back of my head now,” Hernandez said. “No lead is safe.”
