Mark Nold has been hired as the new boys basketball coach at Chandler, district athletic director Marcus Williams said in an email.
Nold won three titles in a row at Glendale Apollo from 2005-07, and has more recently been at Perry and, last year, Arizona College Prep.
He was out of town on Tuesday and not immediately available for comment.
Nold takes over for Mike Ellsworth, who resigned after the season. The Wolves went 12-15 this year and are expected to return five of their top six scorers from a season ago, including standouts Marco Morales (14.2 points per game) and Kameron Casey (11.0 points, 8.2 rebounds).
Nold led Perry to a 21-9 record and a berth in the Division I quarterfinals in 2011-12. He was 66-50 in his four seasons with the Pumas.
