Outlook: Chaparral needs to get right — fast.

After a rousing start to the season which moved them to No. 1 in 4A-I, the Firebirds have hit a slump. They have lost two of their last three games and had to rally to pull out that one victory. Granted, the losses were to now No. 1 Sabino and No. 2 Agua Fria. But coach Ron Estabrook has not been happy with how his team has been playing.

Next week, Chaparral has a big showdown with unbeaten Saguaro. The Firebirds need to use tonight as a preparation game.

Thunderbird will not lay down. Saguaro learned that two weeks ago when it got a scare from the Chiefs.

Chaparral needs to return to running the ball, eating up the clock and playing sound defense.
