Phoenix Sunnyslope broke through with its first win of the season by downing Tempe High 24-10 at Vikings Field.

Sunnyslope tailback Chase Corley was the game workhorse, carrying 22 times for 128 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Sean Maraz efficiently led the Viking ball control game while completing 8-of-12 passes, including one touchdown.

Tempe tailback Tevron Denman contributed bursts of 11 and 36 yards and kept the Buffaloes within reach at the end of two quarters, 14-10. Sunnyslope's defense stiffened, and held Tempe to less than 100 total yard in the second half.
