Desert Ridge quarterback Tarek Morrison underwent another successful surgery for a torn ACL but will miss the rest of the playoffs.
Jaguars coach Jeremy Hathcock said Morrison is again facing many months of recovery time after knee ligaments tore again a couple weeks ago. It's the second time in 12 months he's suffered the injury.
Morrison originally tore his ACL during last year's playoffs, and missed the first three games this season. He was 16 of 34 for 295 yards and two touchdowns in six games this season. He also rushed for 111 yards and two scores in a run-dominant Jaguars' offense.
Desert Ridge (No. 4) will host Brophy (No. 12) on Friday night in the Division I quarterfinals.
Tate Shumway and Alec Hathcock will share time at quarterback in similar fashion to what they did early in the season while Morrison was in the final stages of his first recovery.
