After falling behind in the first half, Horizon picked up the game in the second half with a running attack lead by junior running back Gary Cooper and defeated host Paradise Valley 20-17 Friday.
The Trojans disrupted the Huskies' offense early on. Zack Morris deflected three passes and free safety Jacob Desanti and cornerback Adam Monteilh each had an interception.
While neither team dominated, Paradise Valley controlled the game with a steady running attack. In the second half, the Huskies balanced their approach with more passing and running.
Cooper scored on runs of 6 and 5 yards after halftime.
