The Corona del Sol boys basketball team proved once again it is the best team in Division I with a business-like 63-47 victory over Hamilton on Monday in the MLK Basketball Classic at Wells Fargo Arena.

The top-ranked Aztecs watched from the tunnel as No. 2 Basha was upset by Gilbert in the preceding game, but Calaen Robinson scored 23 points as Corona del Sol kept the Huskies at bay for the team's 15th straight win.

It was a balanced effort, as usual, for Corona del Sol, which got 14 points from Casey Benson and 13 points and five rebounds from Andrus Peat.

Corona del Sol coach Sam Duane said the group effort was similar to what has made the team so successful thus far.

"It's pretty much how it's been all year long," he said.

Hamilton was within two points early in the third quarter, but Corona del Sol (17-1) pushed the lead to nine points through three quarters and never let the Huskies get closer than seven points in the fourth.

The matchup was the nightcap of a six-game showcase at Arizona State.

"Special day, special arena, just a real good game," Moss said.

The game featured a pair of Arizona State signees in Robinson and Hamilton's Eric Jacobsen. Jacobsen finished the contest with 18 points and 15 rebounds but didn't get a lot of help, as no other Huskies player scored in double figures.

The most memorable moment came in the second half when Robinson went for a dunk on a fast break and was met mid-air by Jacobsen. A foul was called, although many in the arena thought it was a clean block.

Robinson smiled when asked about it after the contest.

"Only the replay can tell you (for sure)," Robinson said. "It looked like he blocked it and got it clean, but I got some contact from the back. But I should have flushed that one."
