Arron Fuller had 22 points and 16 rebounds for his fifth double double of the season as Mesa held on to beat Glendale-Deer Valley 50-49 Friday night in the semifinals of the Horizon Tournament at Horizon High School.

Fuller also came up with a steal as time ran out, snuffing any chance for a Deer Valley last-second game-winning shot.

Dan Gillespie added 11 points for the Jackrabbits (8-3), who will play Horizon (which beat Marcos de Niza 84-72 in the other semifinal) in the championship game today at 7:30 p.m. at Horizon High.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Chandler defeated Tohatchi (N.M.) 81-56 in the Page Holiday Tournament. Eladio Rubio led all scorers with 21 points. Debirous Johnson added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Chandler (3-4) will play Dixie (Utah) in the consolation game today. …

Desert Vista defeated Dobson 73-49 to remain undefeated on the year. The Thunder (11-0) had three players in double figures, led by Ty Abbot’s 17 points. Michael Proctor had 14 points and Garrett Lever added 13. ...

Mountain View fell in the semifinals of the Maldonado Classic in Reno, Nev., 56-52, to No. 2 nationally ranked Artesia High School (California). The Toros (8-1) led most of the game and were still ahead 45-41 entering the fourth quarter but could not hold on. Kendall Wallace led Mountain View with 16 points, and Harper Kamp added 15. James Harden, who has committed to Arizona State next season, led Artesia with 18 points. ...

Matt Coakley had 21 points as host Notre Dame Prep beat Sunnyslope 61-60 in double overtime of the first 4A Wells Fargo Region game of the season for both teams. Coakley also had six rebounds, six assists, and scored six of the last eight points in the second overtime for the Saints, including the game-winning shot with four seconds left. Joe Anglim added 11 points for Notre Dame (10-3, 1-0). …

Chase Brewer scored a team-high 14 points in Chaparral’s 60-51 win over Monument Valley as the Firebirds advanced to the finals of the Page Invitational.

Gus Gabel and Mike Cummings added 12 and 11 points, respectively, in the win.

The Firebirds (7-3) will face Page today at 4:15 in the championship game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Jenna Pearson had 12 points and eight steals in Surrey Garden’s 55-30 win over visiting Salome. The Knights’ (7-0) Amanda Martin led all scorers with 18. ...

Dominique Gray scored nine points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Dobson over Ironwood 52-38 in the Deer Valley Tournament.

The Mustangs (4-6) will play Kingman today at 4 p.m. for the consolation championship.

BOYS SOCCER

Visiting Tempe beat McClintock 2-1 in a 4A nonregion game. Luis Lopez, and Eddie Salazar each scored a goal for the Buffaloes (8-0-1).

GIRLS SOCCER

Mesquite scored three secondhalf goals to defeat visiting Hamilton 3-1. Vanessa Stone, Daniella De la Vina and Kimmie Fielder scored for the Wildcats, who trailed 1-0 at halftime. ...

Visiting Paradise Valley beat Skyline 2-1 in overtime of a 5A nonregion game. Ashley Peter and Aly Cwiekowski scored a goal each for the Trojans (6-3), and Veronica Sanchez scored the lone goal for the Coyotes (5-5). ...

Corona del Sol defeated visiting Ironwood 4-1. Brittany Cole had two goals for the Aztecs (8-0-1). Alexa Daiutolo added a goal and three assists. ...

Danica Webb scored the 151st goal of her career as visiting Higley beat Sandra Day O’Connor 3-1 in a 4A nonregion game. Webb finished the game with two goals and Millie Riter added one for the Knights (6-2). Webb also had an assist on the night which was the 44th of her career.
