Scottsdale Notre Dame fell to Cottonwood Mingus 41-27 in 4A-II first round action Friday in Cottonwood.

The Saints (7-5) couldn't find an answer for Mingus' rushing attack. Notre Dame allowed the Marauders (10-3) to rush for 429 yards on 59 carries.

"We just ran into a very big, very physical football team tonight," Notre Dame coach Scot Bemis said. "We just couldn't stop their running game."

Despite missing two receivers, Notre Dame's passing game was still on as the Saints recorded 22 receptions for 284 yards and three touchdowns.
