Outlook: To Donnie Yantis’ credit, this will be the sixth consecutive trip to the playoffs for Paradise Valley, but a tough region schedule has the Trojans on the bottom of the bracket, and facing the defending 5A-II state champions.
Both Charles Hubbard and Michael Williams topped the 1,000 rushing-yard plateau. The key will be whether the Trojans’ powerful running game and quarterback Grant O’Brien can keep North Canyon’s offense off the field.
North Canyon lost to Mountain Ridge last week at home, the first time it had fallen in Glendale in more than a year. Still, at 8-2 the Rattlers have plenty of weapons, especially Jordan Scott, who has rushed for more than 1,200 yards and has 27 total touchdowns.
