Address: 16100 E. Palisades Blvd., Fountain Hills; Records: River Valley 7-1, 3-1 West; Fountain Hills 6-2, 4-0; Gametime: 7:00 p.m.

Outlook:

Fountain Hills coach Jim Fairfield doesn’t like it when things get interesting. And if his team falls to the Dust Devils tonight, things will definitely get interesting in the West.

The Falcons can wrap up the league title with a win, but a loss likely would create a three-way tie for first in the region between Fountain Hills, Wickenburg and River Valley. All three would make the playoffs, but their seeding would come down to a tiebreaker system.

Fountain Hills can avoid the mess by just playing its usual, steady game. The offense has been led all season by fullback HP Rollins, but Fairfield has begun to see some much-needed production from tailback Reece Wasson.

“People were starting to key on HP, and so that opened the door for Reece and he’s had some good games for us,” Fairfield said.

Defensively, the Falcons will need to stop the Dust Devils’ Chad Lucchino, who has rolled up 1,586 yards and 18 touchdowns this season. Lucchino has had three games of more than 200 yards rushing and has been over 100 in every game.
