Gavin Mack threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns and Mesa Red Mountain cruised to a 47-14 victory over host Glendale Deer Valley (0-2) Friday.
Mack sat out the entire second half after throwing touchdown passes of 15, 40 and 37 yards en route to a 41-7 halftime lead.
The Mountain Lions (1-1) scored on their first four possessions and opened a 27-0 lead just 10 minutes into the game. The Skyhawks had no answer for the Lions' running game which amassed 261 yards.
Jarison Johnson had 10 carries for 52 yards and two scores to lead the Mountain Lions' attack.
